Xinchang ancient town is the only historic ancient town which is
protected comparatively well in Pudong. The preserved rate of
buildings of Ming Dynasty, Qing Dynasty and Minguo Period is
more than 55%. The small river passing through the town, the
finely carved stone bridge, the highly laid stone bank and the
along-river resident's saddle bridge fully display the charm of
the ancient town. Xinchang Ancient Town is rich in tourism
resource. It is famous for its temples, nunnery, precious woods
and ancient trees, 10 scenic spots of bamboo root shape rocks,
old stories and legends, special local products, etc. In
December 2008, the town was named as "Famous Historic Culture
Town of China" by the State Construction Administration and
State Cultural Relic Bureau. |

From Chuansha metro station (L2) take the bus 628 in front of
the Chuansha park on the main street 200m from the metro station
and go to terminal station in Xinchang or stop in Xinchang 1 or
2 station before the terminal (around 1 hours ride). |
