Huangpu Park (黄浦公园) - home of the People's Hero Monument and the
Bund Historical Museum, it started its life as Public Garden in
1886. During years between 1890 and 1928, "The Gardens are
reserved for the foreign community". The banning of Chinese from
Huangpu Park has remained as one of the many moments of
humiliation of Chinese people by the Western powers in the 19th
and early 20th century. |
