Born in Shanghai,1562, Xu Guangqi was a outstanding scientist of
late Ming Dynasty. He translated Elements written by Euclid into
Chinese. And he also compiled Nongzheng Quanshu, which was a
great work on agriculture science in ancient times.
While living ,he was a catholic and his tomb was built in
west of Catholic Church. It was appraised as the important
protection unit of cultural relic of the national. |
