Zhou Enlai’s former residence, a 3-storied garden villa, located
on Sinan Road, Luwan District, was the office of the Chinese
Communist Party’s delegation in Shanghai. In May 1946, in
accordance with the “Double-Tenth Agreement” between the
Nationalist Party and the Communist Party, Zhou Enlai led the
Communist delegation to Nanjing to have a conference with the
Nationalist Party. In June, the delegation set up its office in
Shanghai. It was made known to the public as Zhou Enlai’s
residence; hence it is called “Zhou Enlai’s Apartment”. Premier
Zhou Enlai came to Shanghai four times. Here he held press
conferences and met with patriotic personages. |
