The Waibaidu Bridge, called the Garden Bridge in English, is the
first all-steel bridge, and the only surviving example of a
camelback truss bridge, in China.
Crossing the Suzhou Creek
near its confluence with the Huangpu River, the Bridge connects
the administrative districts of Huangpu and Hongkou and
neighbors the famous Bund in downtown Shanghai. It is a wholly
steel structure for both vehicles and pedestrians, with a total
span of 104.39 meters and width of 18.3m. |
