The Liuli China Museum is founded by artist Loretta Hui-shan
Yang and Chang Yi. Through two years meticulous work, the Liuli
China Museum relocated in No.25 Taikang Road with the grand
opening during the Expo 2010 Shanghai, providing a platform for
the world to know, to enjoy, and to appreciate Liuli Art. Liuli
China Museum has a height of 14.7m and a land area of 2400?.
Thanks to the application of full curtain glass wall, the museum
is open, vivid, and full of sunshine. Designed by the co-founder
of the Liuli China Museum Loretta Hui-shan Yang, the two peonies
on the exterior wall of the museum are aesthetic and serene in
the daytime, bright and gorgeous in the evening. The peonies,
representing riches and honor in Chinese culture, are made of
5025 stainless steel petals, which were all hand-made and cost
three months. The first floor of the Liuli China Museum is
always an exciting place. The Museum Café welcomes you to enjoy
the tasty food and music performances from all over the world.
The museum book store provides you with international books and
magazines on arts and design. In the museum gift shop, you’ll
find design works made of Liuli, fabric, ceramics and
eco-friendly materials. Here, material is not only a material,
but also a spirit and a culture. The main exhibition halls of
Liuli China Museum are located in the second and third floors.
Loretta Hui-shan Yang and Chang Yi, the co-founders and pioneers
of the contemporary Chinese Liuli Art, are going to have Loretta
Hui-shan Yang’s opening exhibition here with her representative
art works in the past twenty-three years. Enriched with thoughts
on the meaning of life, motivated by the concerns on the
preservation of culture heritage, the opening exhibition
“Mercifulness and Love” will present the beauty of Liuli art:
the Guan-yin of Thousand Arms and Eyes, Thousand Arms, Thousand
Eyes, Possessing the Knowledge of Sorrow of artist Loretta
Hui-shan Yang, and the art works of the prominent artist Emile
Gallé. The exhibition will opens with the debut of the animation
Nvwa Mended the Sky, which is produced by a-hha studio under the
supervision of Chang Yi. The world-known Optoma digital display
technology will be used to create a feast of light and film,
Liuli and sound, and the interaction between Liuli and the
audiences. Providing indoor exhibition space and open platform,
Liuli China Museum scrutinizes the myriad of possibilities of
Liuli Art, and breaks the boundaries in connecting Liuli with
music, New Folk dance and Kunqu Opera. Liuli China Museum offers
an unique platform of arts and entertainment. Seminars, Events,
Theme Nights, Liuli Class…Liuli China Museum offers a platform
for visitors to express their own creative ideas and share the
beauty of Liuli art as well as Chinese culture. |
