Known as:   Xuhui Riverside  Xuhui Binjiang Gonggong Kaifang Kongjian
Description:   As part of the Huangpu River Restoration project, about 40 hectares (100 acres) of riverfront land west of the Lupu Bridge all the way down to the old Longhua Airport are being rehabilitated to become a vast open space made up of parks, gardens, and a pretty riverside promenade running around 6.5km (4 miles). Still incomplete at press time, this "corniche" is currently best accessed in its central segment around Longheng Lu. Here which was once the water tower for the airplane factory that used to service the old Longhua Airport. At the foot of the tower the Longhua Bridge extends across the tributary Longhua Gang. As you walk farther north along the riverbank you'll see two large cranes remnants from the days when this reclaimed area was the Jiangnan Shipyard. In the future there will be more gardens and recreation areas built as well as water taxis plying the Huangpu River (across the river is the former World Expo zone post-Expo development plans of which are still uncertain). Off the beaten tourist track this riverside promenade currently provides some lovely strolls refreshing breezes and pretty river views
