Masjid Bayan Beleq or Bayan Beleq mosque is located in North
Lombok. The mosque is very simple, the wall is made from woven
bamboo and its floor is from the clay. Masjid Bayan Beleq is the
first mosque built in Lombok Island. Moreover, Bayan Beleq
mosque that has been there for more than 300 years became one of
historical sites in Indonesia.
Masjid Bayan Beleq is
currently not in use by locals, except in celebration of special
events like Lebaran (Islamic celebration after fasting month).
Next to the mosque, there are sacred cemeteries that are
believed by locals as the tombs of great people. Those tombs are
: Makam Plawangan, Makam Karangsalah, Makam Anyar, Makam Reak,
Makam Titi Mas Penghulu, and Makam Sesait.; |
