Description: |
|
The last remaining site of freshwater Irrawaddy Dolphins in Laos
is located on the border of Lao PDR and Cambodia. These
freshwater dolphins, called “Pa Kha” in Lao, reach about 2,5m in
length and likely number less than 20 total in Laos. Tourists
can see the dolphins (although sightings are not guaranteed) by
chartering boats from either Ban Khon. How to get there: From
Ban Khon just a 5-10 minute ride or from Ban Veunkham 30 minute
boat ride on the Lao-Cambodia border south of Khone Phapheng. |
