Description: |
|
At the entrance to Wat Chompet is the tiny village of Ban Don
Khor, home to skilled Buddha stone carvers.
Take some time to wander the village and admire the
traditional process of stone carving.
Local artisans in the village sculpt images of Buddha
from the hard stone using nothing but a hammer and chisel (and
the occasional angle-grinder)!
Buddha images range from small palm-sized creations to
the large 30-metre high Buddha created for Wat Chompet next
door. |
